Lucille's Upcycled Stuff

Lucille's Upcycled Stuff:

In addition to picking, and re-purposing vintage decor items and preparing for an exceptional booth at Junk Bonanza I also wanted to share another branch of this business that is underway as well.

Lucille is not only an avid collector of great junk, she is also an amazing pattern designer and seamstress.  In early December Lucille decided to design a pattern & sew boots out of wool sweaters & leather jackets found in thrift shops.

The adventure began, my job was to comb thrift shops through-out the metro area, looking for unique sweaters and great leather jackets.  Score!  In the meantime, Lucille designed the pattern, started shrinking the sweaters and set up a sewing room dedicated to sewing wool boots.  Since Lucille winters in Arizona (starting next week!) I gave her a project list to complete and .... she delivered.  My sister and I received the first pairs and we have literally had people ask to buy the boots from us off our bodies!

The boots have leather soles, that are cushioned with 4 layers of stuff and are lined with fleece.  They are perfect for cuddling in the house or wearing with leggings/jeggings outside on days without melting snow!

We are currently working on marketing these unique one of a kind boots, but I wanted to share some of the designs currently available.

In addition to Wool Boots, Lucille is also sewing fabulous burlap table runners, burlap liners for vintage metal bins as well as cell phone/I-pad easels.  Did I say that Lucille is amazing?  Who would have thought that a new business venture would be on her horizon as she faces her 78th birthday??

Enjoy!
