First Blog: Introduction
Welcome to the first of many blogs from Lucille's Vintiques. Lucille's Vintiques is a company that is focused on selling vintage, antique and repurposed goods. I am always on the hunt for extraordinary vintage and antique items that will look amazing as part of indoor or outdoor decor. This passion has been fueled by my mom, Lucille who has collected great junk for the past 60 years.

I come from a long line of creative women who are also successful business owners. Lucille owned a fabric, vintage, antique and gift shop for 40 years; this past year the shop was chosen as one of the top 10 Quilt Shops in the nation. This business is now owned by my sister & managed by my niece; both creative entrepreneurs. As the fabric/quilt business grew the available space for gifts and antiques diminished. This is where I step in, working with my mom and her great junk collection hosting 'Occasional Sales' over the past 3 years.
For the past 15 years I have dreamed about pursuing my passion full time aside from a career in International Affairs in Corporate America. On November 1st 2012 I was given the opportunity to pursue my passion as part of a Corporate restructuring after serving 27 years. Giddy with excitement, my suppressed creative side burst at the seams with amazing doors opening before me all the while being able to work beside my mom, whom I consider my best friend.
My creative juices are flowing and numerous projects are in the works, I plan to start the business with the overflowing inventory that Lucille has collected over the past 60 years.

I
am learning much about social media, alongside my son who is graduating
with a communications degree in the spring. He has created the
Lucille's Vintiques banner
and
Etsy as well as gift tags & business cards. Talents of young adults
are truly amazing, coming from someone who did not own a computer until
the 90's!
My business sense kicked in as I have pursued vendor space and women who have been successful in selling vintage and repurposed goods. I am delighted to say that I have been accepted as a vendor at Junk Bonanza (April 18-20) Shakopee, MN and at Gold Rush Days (3rd weekend August) in Oronoco, MN. I am patiently waiting a monthly occasional sale space with ultimate plans of opening the occasional sale on the property my husband and I own in Chisago City, MN; in the fantastic Garden Shed and Quaint barn my husband built
for me in anticipation of selling junk after retirement which came sooner than planned.
